Washington. DC
The owner of this 2005 DC row house wanted an open, modern well lit space. As a bachelor who often entertains, it was important to have a space that reflected his lifestyle. The front elevation of the house was redesigned with larger windows and new terraces, and the front garden simplified. The main floor of the house was completely opened up with the new kitchen acting as the focal point between the sitting area, dining and TV area. A long island below a dropped ceiling anchors the room.
Exterior materials include viroc, steel, and laminate panels. Interior finishes are bamboo floors, porcelain tiles, and custom mill work. The owner acted as their own general contractor.
